Compatibility checker

Pick your board and a component’s logic level to see whether you can wire them directly or need a level shifter. Heuristic guidance — always confirm against the datasheet.

Level shifter recommended

Your 5V board can over-volt a 3.3V component on the lines it drives. Use a bidirectional logic level converter.

  • Board → component (5V → 3.3V): shift down (level converter or divider) to protect the 3.3V input.
  • Component → board (3.3V → 5V): a 5V board usually reads 3.3V as HIGH — often fine for inputs.
